Dr. Robin Alter is a registered clinical psychologist in practice since 1979 and has been Senior Consultant to the Hincks-Dellcrest Children's Centre and Blue Hills Child and Family Centre since 1980.  In her consulting capacity, she also consults to the Indigenous community regarding Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) and conducts FAS assessments.  Her current practice includes both the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents and adults.  She is cofounder of the ADD Institute and a member of the Canadian Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association.  Dr. Alter has been working as a psychologist for over 35 years.  First, she worked in Florida as the only psychologist working with children and families in a rural mental health centre.  Over the past 28 years, she has worked in Toronto, Ontario as a consultant and taught courses in psychology part-time at York University, while also running her own comprehensive practice.  She is the author of several books and has been working with The Psychology Foundation of Canada for the past 10 years in a variety of capacities.
