Empowering Teens with Tools for Resilience!

A comprehensive resource designed for educators and youth-serving professionals to help teens in grades 9-12 develop resilience and positive coping skills. Packed with psychologically-sound strategies, this program equips young people with essential stress management and coping techniques, laying the groundwork for lifelong mental well-being. Grounded in a constructivist educational approach, the program acknowledges that students bring prior knowledge and experiences related to stress into the classroom. It leverages these insights to enhance learning and resilience. Additionally, the program emphasizes the value of peer support, acknowledging that teens often turn to their peers for coping strategies.

With components for teachers, counsellors, administrators, parents and caregivers, the program features 6 lessons full of psychologically sound strategies and tools to support youth to:

  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of stress
  • Understand what stress “feels” like
  • Identify stressors and their impact
  • See the upside of stress
  • Develop and implement coping and problem-solving strategies
  • Foster an increased sense of well-being.

This resource is the product of the work of many dedicated people including leading psychologists, school district leaders, principals, guidance counsellors, public health professionals, parents and youth themselves.
